Aston Vietnam is a division of AEG (Aston Educational Group), an international and professional education brand from the United States. AEG focuses on language training, education consultation and cultural exchange around the world. Aston Vietnam opened in 2008 and currently and has plans to expand to other cities with more schools from 2015 to 2017. Aston Vietnam now has six locations in Vietnam, four of which are in Ho Chi Minh City, with over 2,800 students aged 4 to 14.
Job Description and Required Skills
Job Title: English Trainer Co-op
Job Description: Teaching English to children of all ages (4-16) in small classes. Our primary focus is on English speaking and listening with reading and writing as a secondary focus. Teachers will have full support with regard to textbooks. They are given a teacher's guide, textbook and workbook for each level they are responsible for teaching.
- Teaching scheduled class hours as outlined in the contract. Class hours include scheduled lessons, substitutions, outside teaching, one-to-one tutoring, and educational promotional events.
- Preparing lesson plans.
- Following the curriculum, the course aims, and lesson objectives.
- Participation in the organization of events and marketing strategies, and the creation of course curriculum.
Required Job Skills:

Number of Positions: 2
Hours Per Week: 30 hrs (20-25 teaching hours and the others are office hours)
GPA Requirement: Minimum 2.0 GPA
Language Requirements: Native English speaker. You will receive free Vietnamese language classes weekly.
Compensation: Stipend of 6 million VND per month (about $300)
Financial Award: Eligible students will be considered for a financial award from the Steinbright Career Development Center. U.S. Citizens are eligible for $10,000 in funding from the Freeman Foundation and Steinbright.
Housing: Shared apartment will be provided with free wifi - students will share with one or two other co-ops
Visa Requirement: Aston Vietnam will apply for a pick up visa upon arrival at VN's airport. The teacher can easily apply for an extension of another 3-month travel visa.
