AustriaProgram Description:

Drexel has partnered with Vorarlberg University (FVH) in order to provide co-op opportunities in Austria. This position is with the Zumtobel Group, a global player in the lighting industry. The Group offers a full range of professional indoor and outdoor lighting, lighting management systems and lighting components as well as innovative LED and OLED technology. Based in Dornbirn in the Vorarlberg region of Austria, the Group currently employs a workforce of approximately 7,290 employees worldwide.

Job Description and Required Skills

Job Title: Corporate Communication Co-op

Job Description: Student will be generally supporting the communication teams as well as working on specific topics and own topics in the fields of internal and external communication

Organizational Topics:

  • Revising and editing of texts
  • Coordination of translations
  • Preparation of presentations
  • Research and maintenance of journalist database
  • Development of smaller communications plans
  • Event support

Internal Communication:

  • Research, writing and editing of texts for the intranet
  • Publishing news on the intranet and provide support for users
  • Research, writing and editing of articles for the global employee magazine

External Communication:

  • Research, writing and editing of texts for different communication channels (website, press releases, social media, blog, media inquiries)
  • Editorial support for external blog (
  • Support for Twitter activities

Required Job Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Reliable and committed
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Previous experience in communications field desirable

Number of Positions: 1

Number of Hours per Week:38.5

GPA Requirement: Minimum 2.0 GPA

Compensation:1715 EUROS per month (about $1900)

As part of the agreement with Vorarlberg University, the following is being offered to the selected student:

  • Assistance with the visa application process (Visa D, special contingent available)

  • Free German course (beginner and advanced levels available)
